A collection of thoughts:

I have about 8 billion things I need to do today.  Between moving in/classes/internship/taking care of our ugly yard/etc, I am swamped. But I have a dang cold. And I am grumpy about it. So I instead I am looking at puppies that I want to adopt. Yesterday morning I sat outside, eating my breakfast, looking at our yard and picturing a puppy back there, chasing around a tennis ball. And then I decided that I should stop imagining pets and I went inside. The point is, I can not wait to get a dog! We're picking one out while we're in Colorado! I CAN'T WAIT. Cary will be one busy bee during pilot training, so I need a puppy to hang out with me, and to bark at bad guys when Cary is gone. In conclusion, here is a hilarious video of my puppy at home being very angry with a KNEX roller coaster. When Ryan sent me this video, I watched it 15 times in a row and laughed uncontrollably every time.

On an unrelated note, today I have been married for 4 months! It has gone a bizarre combination of fast and slow. On the one hand, it feels like we just got married yesterday, and then on the other hand it's like, haven't we always been married? As a seasoned expert on the matter, I feel that I can now fully endorse marriage. It is fantastic. My best friend is always around! My favorite times are when we're in bed trying to go to sleep but we keep talking about ridiculous things, telling each other that we REALLY need to go to sleep so we need to be quiet but then one of us will make a joke or something and we'll get all started again and then it's 2 in the morning and we have to wake up in 4 hours. Also, the other day I was doing dishes, singing some "Fever" and I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty lost in my own little world... dancing around, belting it out. And my mean ol' husband snuck into the kitchen and grabbed me and scared me and I screamed bloody murder and accidently hit him really hard. I was seriously terrified! He was too busy laughing his head off to complain about how hard I hit him, but now I am afraid of singing in the kitchen.

But hey, speaking of Wal-Mart, I hate that place. Every time we go there, I want to get my tubes tied. Wal-Mart is about the only place you can really get groceries or anything so we have gone there like every single day since we moved here and it always puts me in an awful mood. It is like 20 minutes away, and there are so many dang stop lights! Ugh! There is one particular experience that still raises my blood pressure just thinking about it. I went to get our oil changed, which sounds like a simple process. The woman informed that it would be about 30 minutes, so I decided to wander around the store. After navigating my way around a million screaming children and people walking very slowly and of course the high caliber individuals employed there, I managed to find a few things that we need and several impulse purchases. When you add in the amount of money you spend while waiting to get your oil changed, it can be a very expensive ordeal. So after 30 minutes I went to go pick up my car and when I asked if it was done they looked at me like I'd just asked them if my space shuttle was done with repairs. Anyway, 2 hours later my car is finally done and after much attitude from the people at the auto care place, I finally got my car and went home... Without the things I had just bought. And then I decided to get back in bed and never come back out.

Anywho, besides Wal-Mart being a constant source of strife, life continues to be great.

Worst blogger ever.

Time to start anew. Once upon a time, I made a blog to chronicle our life together but I made it with my old e-mail address, and I deleted that e-mail address so now that blog is all messed up and rather than sort out that whole mess, I just decided to make a brand new one! The bottom line of that fascinating saga is that anyone who used to follow my old blog (Mom....), you should now look at this one instead! Be my blog friend!

Okay. So. As of tomorrow, we will have been happily married for 4 months! And they said it would never last... A lot has happened in those 4 months, but if I am far too lazy to try and think of witty things to say about all of that so we are just going to start with the here and now.  As we speak, my husband is snuggled up to me, asleep on the couch and he just looks so darn cute. Being married is the bomb. I am now going to attempt to add some pictures with accompanying captions, but thus far in my blogging career, this has proved above and beyond my technological know-how.

Oh my goodness it worked! This is our humble abode! But, after living in student apartments for the last 3 years, it feels like we are living in the lap of luxury. We have 3 bedrooms! What on earth are we going to do with 3 bedrooms? The actual moving into our house and getting our things delivered was a bit of a nightmare and I have had a lot of really pleasant conversations with various customer service representatives. I would really like to put them on hold someday. And tell them what MY policy is...

Anywho.

So wanna see some pictures of our new digs? Of course ya do.
Here's our living room! My amazing parents gave us these couches and we loooove them. And Cary used a very generous graduation gift from his parents to buy an enormous TV which is also fantastic. We are so spoiled.
Cary put all of our bedroom stuff together while I followed the movers around, worrying they were going to drop something. The first night we slept in our bed, I thought I had died. As you may be aware, futons are not generally designed for 2 people and sleeping on our nice queen sized bed felt like sleeping in heaven. Also, we hadn't seen our furniture and bedding and all that in like 3 months and I had kind of forgotten what it looked like, and I was very glad that it is still cute.
The darn movers dropped our table at some point and it got a little beat up, but it is still working great and we love it. Side note, all of our possessions made it mostly in one piece to Del Rio, except for one box of our glasses from Crate and Barrell. They can not be located, and now the good ol' AF owes us 100 smackaroos. But for the life of me I can not figure out how one box got lost. Where is it? Who has our nice glasses? Those bums. But all is well. At least they just lost some glasses and not something awesome like our waffle maker. Because if that bad boy was missing it would not have been pretty. Anyway. I love setting our table and serving up our dinners in our fancy dishes! We had some friends over for dinner last night and we made an amazing southern feast of pulled pork sandwiches, cornbread casserole, mashed red potatoes, and our friend brought over an amazing pie. When all was said and done, I believe 4 sticks of butter were involved. Don't worry about it.
This is my favorite part of the house! A YARD! With a fence! They told us our house did not have a fence, so I had been pouting that I couldn't get a dog, and when we moved in, I saw this fence and nearly passed out from excitement! I immediately applied at a million Lab rescues and when I'm in Colorado in a couple of weeks I'm going to pick out our puppy to take home! We can't wait.

Life here in Del Rio is actually pretty great. I was bracing myself for armadillos and tumble weed and gangs and other such unpleasantries, but we really like it here! The town has just about everything you need, and the base is pretty nice! I like hearing the planes over my head and watching them land and take off. But then I think about my husband in one of those planes and I have to go eat some ice cream to drown out my anxiety. Currently he is very safely employed as the "Snack Officer" for a squadron here, which is a major source of hilarity for me. They give the guys awaiting pilot training some super lame jobs to keep them occupied until their start date, but I don't think it can get worse than Snack Officer. Ha. In the mean time, I have been working on my online classes, with an emphasis on complaining about my online classes. They suck. All there is to say about it. I got a sweet internship down here at the Health and Wellness Center and I love everyone I work with! We miss our famblies like crazy and can't wait to come visit. And if anyone is ever passing through Del Rio (ha! the only way anyone would ever pass through Del Rio is if they were driving to Mexico) please come stop by! You can even sleep on our futon!

This concludes my first of hopefully many blog entries! I have lately fallen in love with cooking and baking and I'm pondering chronicling my various success/failures on this blog, along with amusing anecdotes from our lives, and I pinky promise to post much more often!
